Terms of service

Who we are

0xA3 is a personal, non-commercial Minecraft server run for fun by Arné Schreuder in South Africa. "We" and "us" means 0xA3 and its owner. Contact: contact@0xa3.co.za.

Accepting these terms

Joining the server, joining the 0xA3 Discord or signing up on this site means you accept these terms, the rules and the privacy notice. If you don't agree, don't play or sign up.

Who can play

You need a genuine, paid Minecraft: Java Edition account. Your account is also governed by Mojang's and Microsoft's own terms wherever you play.
If you're under 18, check with a parent or guardian first: they're responsible for your Microsoft account, and these terms apply to them too. The server's chat and builds are unfiltered.

Your 0xA3 account

One account per person. Link only a Minecraft account and a Discord account that are yours; proving ownership is part of signing up.
Keep your sign-in safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Being whitelisted is a privilege, not a right. We may decline or remove anyone who breaks rules 1 to 3.
You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the privacy notice).

Anarchy means risk

0xA3 has no in-game rules. Other players can and will grief, steal, kill and lie. Hacked clients are allowed. We don't roll back, refund or restore anything lost in the game, whoever caused it. Chat and builds are unfiltered. You play at your own risk.

Microsoft can act on reported Minecraft chat and on hacked clients under its own terms. That's between you and Microsoft.

What you build and post

You keep whatever rights you have in your builds, chat, screenshots and posts.
You give us permission to host, store, back up and show them, to run 0xA3, to show off the world (for example screenshots of builds on this site or Discord), and for research on de-identified copies as the privacy notice explains.
Don't post anything illegal or anything that breaks the rules. We may remove any content, in the game or elsewhere, that does.

The server and site

We run 0xA3 on a best-effort basis. It sleeps outside play hours and can go down for maintenance, updates or things beyond our control.
We intend to keep one world forever with no resets, but we can't promise it: hardware can fail, Minecraft can change, and 0xA3 could one day close. We keep backups and will give notice on Discord where we can.
We may change, add or remove features, and update the Minecraft version.

Bans and appeals

We act on reports of rules 1 to 3. A ban applies on the server and, if your Discord is linked, on the 0xA3 Discord. We tell you which rule and why. To appeal, email contact@0xa3.co.za. Illegal content, especially involving children, is reported to the police as South African law requires.

Purchases and donations

Nothing is for sale yet. When the shop and donations open, the price and what you get will be shown before you pay, and you'll get an order history. 0xA3 will never sell pay-to-play access or anything that gives an advantage in the game. Your rights under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act are not affected.

No guarantees

0xA3 is provided as it is, for free, for fun. As far as South African law allows, we give no guarantees and aren't liable for losses from using it, including lost items, builds, time or progress. Nothing here limits rights that the law says can't be limited.

Not Mojang

NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT SERVER. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we announce big changes in the Discord. Carrying on after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by South African law. If something goes wrong, email us first and we'll try to sort it out.
